D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Foundation Flatwork Field Manager. The right candidate will oversee field operations related to residential concrete flatwork including driveways, sidewalks, patios, and related exterior concrete installations for new home construction communities. This role is responsible for managing field crews, coordinating schedules with homebuilding construction teams, ensuring quality installation, maintaining safety standards, and delivering work that meets production timelines and company specifications.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversee daily field operations for residential flatwork
- Coordinate installation schedules with home builder construction managers and superintendents to ensure flatwork is completed in alignment with construction timelines and home closing schedules
- Supervise field crews and foremen, providing direction on work assignments, productivity expectations, safety practices, and installation standards
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards by inspecting completed flatwork for proper grading, finish, thickness, curing practices, and adherence to engineering specifications
- Manage labor productivity and crew allocation, ensuring crews are properly staffed and resources are deployed efficiently across projects
- Maintain job site safety standards by enforcing OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and proper use of equipment and protective gear
- Coordinate material deliveries and equipment usage including concrete scheduling, forming materials, reinforcement, and finishing tools required for flatwork installation
- Communicate regularly with operations leadership and builder representatives regarding production progress, scheduling updates, field issues, and quality concerns
- Assist with evaluating field performance, identifying process improvements, and implementing operational efficiencies within flatwork operations
- Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. 5+ years of experience in residential concrete construction or flatwork installation. 2+ years of supervisory or crew leadership experience in construction field operations. Ability to identify installation issues, resolve field challenges, and maintain quality and production standards in a fast-paced construction environment. Knowledge of residential concrete flatwork installation practices including forming, reinforcement placement, finishing techniques, curing processes, and construction sequencing.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form or via DRH applications. Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision. The noise level is generally moderate.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills a plus. OSHA safety training or certifications preferred.
