Commercial Construction Estimator

Because of their continued growth, a general contractor in the local area is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator to join their team. Estimator

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The estimator will be responsible for working on several potential projects valued between $5M-200M.
  • Provides leadership, guidance, and expertise by defining, implementing, and monitoring department estimating resources, guidelines, best practices, and procedures.
  • Coordinates with a team and senior management to grow the business in line with the firm's strategic direction.
  • Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of submissions.
  • Establishes team assignments and identifies estimating review dates.
  • Oversees and supports several projects from an operational, financial, and resource standpoint.
  • Negotiation bids on new build projects.
  • Review subcontractor proposals and level out the subcontractor proposals.
  • Create subcontractor bid scopes of work.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and square foot analysis and present in an organized manner.

    Qualifications:

    • 7+ years of directly related experience, preferably in the commercial/residential construction industry.
    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university highly preferred.
    • Knowledge of different construction methods, planning, scheduling, and sequencing.
    • Strong management skills and ability to lead and motivate team members.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other departments and agencies.
    • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and judge when to involve others.
    • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
    • Ability to problem solve and generate innovative solutions.
    • Efficient in Procore, MS Office, spreadsheets, Internet software, E-mail applications
