At the YMCA, strengthening the community is our core mission. As a member services associate, you will support this mission by providing excellent service to members, guests, and program participants, fostering a welcoming environment at the Welcome Center and Lobby.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
- Conducts tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; performs basic member and program transactions.
- Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
- Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs the supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
- Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
- Maintains lobby appearance and ensures safety measures are in place.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
- Demonstrates and supports the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
- Various shifts including early morning, mid‑day, afternoon, and evening during the week and weekends.
- Maximum 20 hours per week.
- $11.00 - $13.00 per hour, based on qualifications.
- July 21, 2026 (applications reviewed on a rolling basis).
- Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical functions.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Minimum six months of work experience involving cash handling.
- Basic computer skills such as using a computerized time clock, viewing member accounts, and completing online training requirements.
- Current Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Certification or equivalent before starting.
- Child Abuse Prevention Training prior to starting; maintained annually.
- Training to be completed within the first 30 days and maintained thereafter.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- Occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Must adapt to frequently changing working conditions and maintain a flexible schedule.
