Virtual Design & Construction; VDC) Engineer I​/II – Industrial, Traveling

• Support development and coordination of VDC models, ensuring constructability and alignment with field conditions
• Escalate complex modeling issues to senior VDC staff as needed
• Provide field support through execution plans, quantity takeoffs, constructability coordination, visualizations, schedule phasing, logistics planning, LiDAR scanning, 360 photo documentation, and drone operations
• Maintain a consistent presence onsite or in-office to identify issues and offer VDC-based solutions
• Apply 3D, 4D, and 5D VDC tools to improve project workflows and coordination
• Create and maintain models, renderings, and simulations
• Identify workflow inefficiencies and propose practical improvements
• Implement VDC workflows with project teams and collaborate with preconstruction and operations teams
• Manage RFIs, ASIs, and digital documentation workflows
• Organize and maintain accessible project data and compute metrics for management review
• Provide basic training on VDC tools and workflows
• Contribute to VDC standards and training materials and share field lessons learned
• Research, test, and assist with implementing new software and hardware
• Prepare visuals, models, and documentation for marketing and business development
• Represent the VDC team professionally on jobsites and in meetings
• Stay current with VDC tools and construction technology and pursue learning opportunities
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

• Previous internship experience in a construction role supporting VDC
• LEAN principles experience is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and a high attention to detail
• Ability to exercise independent judgement
• Initiative and strong decision‑making capabilities
• Excellent problem‑solving skills
• Working knowledge of Autodesk software programs (Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks)
• General understanding of VDC software (Sketchup, Fuzor, Infraworks, Adobe Suite), systems and hardware
• Proficient in basic computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to learn specific job‑related software upon hire

Demonstrates expertise in VDC modeling, including 3D, 4D, and 5D tools, while effectively collaborating with project teams to enhance workflows and constructability. Proficient in Autodesk software and capable of providing training and support for VDC processes.
