Obstetrics Physician

Locum-to-Perm OB/GYN Hospitalist   Seeking a Locum-to-Perm OB/GYN Hospitalist to start  January 1, 2026 . This role provides 24/7 in-house coverage for the OB Emergency Department (OBED), managing emergent obstetric cases including vaginal deliveries and C-sections. The OB Hospitalist will care for patients without a primary OB/GYN and serve as the only maternity transport team in Iowa.

Shift Length:  24 hours

On Call:  24/7 in-house (call rooms available)

Practice Details      Setting:  Inpatient hospital

Telehealth:  Not applicable

Supervision of APPs:  Not required

Exam Rooms:  8-bed OBED

Support Services:  Lab, pharmacy, and medical imaging available

EMR:  Epic

Patient Volume:  1,389 OBED visits per year; 463 result in deliveries

Residents:  Present, but not under OB Hospitalist supervision

GYN Responsibilities:  None

MFM:  On call for consults

Key Responsibilities     Manage OBED patients and emergent obstetric cases

Attend vaginal deliveries and C-sections

Care for patients without a primary OB/GYN

Serve as the only maternity transport team in Iowa

Submission Requirements     Board Certified (or truly Board Eligible)  Required

Active Iowa license or IMLC  Required

Clean malpractice and background  Required

Must sign attestation verifying intent to seek permanent position
