This position is responsible for conducting American Red Cross Lifeguard and CPR training courses.

Job Location: Various locations in the Des Moines Metro
Hourly Rate: $19.00–$22.50/hour based on experience

Schedule: Weekday evenings and/or Weekends; number of hours varies based on class schedule and your availability. Minimum of four courses a year, with more hours available for candidates if wanting.

March 5, 2026 – Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

• Prepare training site and materials for each course.
• Conduct required training courses according to American Red Cross standards.
• Follow processes/procedures for submitting completion records, course evaluations, and participant evaluations after each course.
• Notify supervisor of any training supply needs and any issues with equipment.
• Follow all YMCA of Greater Des Moines policies, procedures, operating standards, and emergency procedures.
• Attend team meetings, trainings, and events assigned by the supervisor or designated staff person.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
• Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.
