A School Psychologist position is available in Des Moines, IA, offering a dynamic opportunity to support students' mental health and educational success within a school setting. This role involves collaboration with educators, parents, and other professionals to assess and address students psychological and learning needs, contributing to a positive and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments to identify students cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies.
- Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators regarding student progress and behavioral concerns.
- Provide counseling and support services to students facing social, emotional, or academic challenges.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to creating a safe and inclusive school environment.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Travel to multiple school locations as necessary to fulfill job duties.
- Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field.
- Appropriate state licensure or certification for school psychology.
- Experience conducting psychological assessments and developing IEPs.
- Strong knowledge of child development, learning disabilities, and behavioral interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel between school sites.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
