This position will remain open until filled.
Academic and Behavior Technician supports special education practitioners by collecting and documenting data for Child Find evaluations, conducting interviews with students, educators, and/or parents, observing instruction, and performing related tasks under the direction of a special education practitioner.
Essential Functions- Review student records and summarize important information related to the student's education program.
- Conduct interviews with students, educators, or parents.
- Conduct observations of students and instructional activities.
- Assist with assessments of students without interpretation.
- Assist with preparing materials and scheduling activities.
- Assist with data collection and documentation as directed.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Respond to changing educational needs and environments.
- Maintain confidentiality related to agency, district, students, and family information.
- Adhere to ethical standards, confidentiality requirements (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA), and agency policies.
- Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.

- Required
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field. - Desired
Education and Experience:
Licensed by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners. - Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Ability to relate to the student population being served.
- Ability to build and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues.
- Effective written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal skills with all stakeholders.
- Competence in using technology for documentation, collaboration, and service delivery.
- Ability to apply analytical thinking.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Competency working in a multicultural environment or willingness to acquire these skills.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

Physical Requirements- Frequent: standing, walking, and sitting.
- Occasional: bending/stooping, reaching/pushing/pulling, climbing stairs, driving/lifting (10 lbs), carrying (10 ft).
