Hiring Specifications:
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree in education, social work, or related field
- Three (3) years of experience in coordinating school-based services, working with youth, or serving the community
- Desired:
- Experience working in a Pre‑K‑12 educational setting

- Problem solving, organization, data collection, and leadership skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written

Basic Function:
Coordinates and supports intentional and meaningful partnerships between families, community partners, agencies, and the school to assist in reaching building level goals; specifically reducing chronic absenteeism, increasing academic achievement, increasing student engagement in out-of‑school activities, and increasing student self‑efficacy. Implements a menu of data-informed, high-quality programs and services in adherence with the community school framework, including but not limited to expanded learning and enrichment opportunities, integrated student support (health and basic needs), active family and community engagement, and effective collaborative leadership practices.
EssentialFunctions
- Serve as a member of the building MTSS team to assess, identify, develop, and implement integrated student supports that lead to measurable improvements in student attendance and academic achievement.
- Serve as a member of the building support team to respond to student and family support requests by linking families to available school-based programs, services, and community resources.
- Coordinate on-site school programs and services to provide health and basic needs including school-based food pantry, clothing closets, coordination with school-based health clinics, and other services as indicated by the need within the community.
- Strategically mobilize community partnerships to meet the needs of the individual school community.
- Lead the assessment, identification, development, and implementation of enhanced and enriched opportunities to expand student engagement and access to learning opportunities.
- Create student opportunities and access to leadership, service learning, civic engagement, and peer mentoring.
- Serve as the coordinator and point of contact for education enhancement and enrichment opportunities through collaboration with DMPS community partners, community organizations, community members, and volunteers.
- Recruit and manage volunteers for school-wide initiatives to meet building goals.
- Lead school building team on the development and implementation of transitions in alignment with the district framework.
- Create opportunities for family and student feedback, leading to coordination of school-wide events and programs intentionally designed to be inclusive, engaging, accessible, and responsive to family needs.
- Responsible for data input and evaluation of programs and resources.
- Participate on school teams as directed by building leadership.
- Participate in district and building based training and professional development.
- Initiate, develop, and maintain positive and productive working relationships with school administration and staff, parents, family, and community members.
- Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
- Assist with other duties as may be assigned.
