HIRING SPECIFICATIONS- Valid Iowa teaching license (Required)
- Knowledge of subject, curriculum, and effective teaching methods
- Demonstrated effectiveness in oral and written communications
- Previous classroom teaching experience (Desired)
- Experience in an urban school district (Desired)
Responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality educational program to meet children’s academic and social‑emotional needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Deliver daily lessons aligned to state and district standards that meet students’ individual needs and ensure growth.
- Create a culturally inclusive classroom that meets students’ academic and social‑emotional needs.
- Participate in building and district professional learning communities to plan instruction, analyze data, and create assessments.
- Monitor student learning on a daily basis and use multiple data points to guide and individualize instruction.
- Communicate with families on a regular basis.
- Participate in professional development.
- Demonstrate consistent progress on meeting the eight Iowa Teaching Standards.
- Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
- Assist with other duties as may be assigned.
