Job DescriptionDMPS is seeking a Literacy Interventionist for Roosevelt High School. This position requires either a 5-12 English/Language Arts endorsement or a 5-12 Reading endorsement.

Mostly indoors with some outdoor responsibilities during arrival/dismissal
Required Qualifications:
- 5-12 English Language Arts endorsement (or 5-12 Reading endorsement)
- Experience with data literacy and ability to analyze and report data
- Experience leading professional development or serving as a PLC lead
- Experience in planning, implementing, and integrating supports for tiered intervention needs
Desired:
- 5-12 Reading endorsement
The academic interventionist serves students in a Title I Target and School wide program with support for at‑risk students within the school’s MTSS.
- Coordinate and provide strategic supplemental academic instruction to meet individual student needs.
- Identify students in need of supplemental interventions to support core instruction.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, PLCs, administration, and families to identify best practices for individual and small groups.
- Plan and teach interventions based on student learning needs using high-quality, research-based materials aligned to the Science of Reading.
- Use data to guide instruction, support access to core instruction, and deliver foundational skill building and just‑in‑time learning tied to core standards.
- Monitor student learning daily and use multiple data points to guide group and individualized instruction.
- Ensure intervention sequences align with classroom instruction and building MTSS.
- Document interventions in Panorama Student Success and record monitoring data. Use graphs and progress monitoring data to make instructional decisions.
- Participate in professional learning communities and literacy training for staff.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of building professional development.
- Communicate with families regularly.
- Demonstrate consistent progress toward meeting the eight Iowa Teaching Standards.
- Attend appropriate PLCs as directed by building administration.
- Report holistic and aggregated data on student progress in intervention during building quarterly reviews.
- Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
- Assist with other duties as may be assigned.
- FLSA Status:
Exempt - Bargaining Group: DMEA; funded by Title I Grant funds and subject to availability.
