Enrichment Coach

Hours:

Monday - Friday, 1:30pm
-5:30pm

Hiring Specifications:

Required:

  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Able to carry out duties cooperatively with others
  • Able to handle multiple responsibilities at once.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Desired:

  • Successful work or volunteer experience with children.
  • Supervisory experience with school age children.
  • Ability to use computer technology, including Microsoft Office tools and other district purchased software.
  • Bilingual

Basic Function:

Assist the Enrichment Leader and/or Before & After School Specialist with providing a safe, secure and structured after school environment, while demonstrating positive behavior management techniques. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the Metro Kids department.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in administering quality Metro Kids programming while adhering to, and having a firm understanding of, District and program procedures, and Department of Human Services licensing regulations.
  • Assist in communicating program expectations and procedures clearly, effectively, and in a positive manner to staff, students, and parents/guardians.
  • Assist in implementing positive student behavior management techniques
  • Assist with implementing a safe, high quality, hands-on, engaging, and age-appropriate academic, enrichment and recreational curriculum/programs and clubs; actively participate and engage in activities with students; not just supervise or observe.
  • Present a positive image of the program while providing exemplary customer care and following program procedures to safely dismiss students from the program.
  • Assist in establishing a positive, supportive, and working relationship and communication with Enrichment Leader(s) and/or Before & After School Specialist(s), site staff, students and parents/guardians.
  • Have, or be able to obtain all Department of Human Services required trainings; including CPR, First Aid, Mandatory Reporter and Universal Precautions and keep trainings up-to-date as required.
  • Assist in maintaining high-level of fairness, confidentiality, respect and equity with students, families and staff.
  • Assist in supervising students in all Metro Kids program areas.

Additional Essential Functions (for every DMPS position):

  • Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
  • Assist with other duties as may be assigned.

Days: 260 day calendar

Hours:

4 hour work day

Physical Requirements:

Constant standing and walking. Frequent sitting, bending and stooping. Occasional reaching, climbing stairs, driving, lifting (10lbs) and carrying (20 feet).

Working Conditions:

Constant inside. Frequent outside extremes of temperature/humidity.
