Salary: $17.78 to $22.61 per hour

• Assist teachers in the instruction, supervision, and care of all students.
• Abide by guidelines established for teacher associates of the district.
• Assist in creating a safe, nurturing, child‑centered environment.
• Supervise students in all assigned areas.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and implementation.
• Model appropriate etiquette and mealtime conversations when eating meals or snacks with children.
• Participate in pre‑service and in‑service training.
• Work with parents under guidance from a supervisor.
• Assist in record‑keeping, instruction, monitoring progress, and data collection.
• Participate in first aid, CPR, mandatory child‑abuse, and other required training.
• Participate in family orientation and parent or IEP meetings as required.
• When directed, implement strategies to maintain or increase behavior and de‑escalate inappropriate behavior.
• Follow individualized behavior management plans.
• Clarify and reinforce teacher directions.
• Perform personal‑care duties such as feeding, toileting/diaper changes, and positioning.
• Prepare and supervise students during bus loading/unloading.
• Attend work promptly and on a regular basis.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
• Assist with other duties as may be assigned.

• Required: High School Diploma, GED, or HiSET.
• Required: Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, Bachelor’s Degree, Associate’s Degree, or para‑educator certification (Generalist I, Generalist II, or early childhood).
• Desired: Experience working with preschool children in an early childhood program.
• Desired: Basic computer skills.
