Hiring Specifications
Required:
- Experience as a speech and/or debate instructor or participant.
- Knowledgeable in performance, research and competitive strategy.
- College degree in a related field (Associate Degree minimum).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to drive students to competition sites as required.
Desired:
- Experience as a debate and/or speech coach.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in communications or related field.
Basic Function
This position is responsible for teaching students the four forms of debate and various forms of speech, including the theories and skills underlying the various competition events. They will build and lead a team of students through regular speech and debate contests, schedule practices and coordinate travel arrangements.

- Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain satisfactory working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
- Attend district‑wide meetings as requested.
