Reimagine Education Communication Team Member (Stipend)

The Reimagine Education Communication Team Member will serve for one full school year (July 1 – June 30) to promote continuity, trust, and consistency in community relationships, returning team members will be given priority consideration for future years. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the district.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Reimagining Education (RE)–related community engagement within their assigned region.
  • Serve as the lead presenter for three regional community update meetings per year (tentatively scheduled for September, January, and May). Logistics for these meetings will be coordinated by the RE Lead Project Manager.
  • Participate in collaborative planning sessions with the full RE Communication Team in advance of each regional update meeting.
  • Dedicate regular weekly time to respond to community questions related to Reimagining Education within their assigned region.
    • Community questions are defined as questions originating from families, caregivers, community members, and partner organizations.
    • Staff questions will be addressed by school principals or the Reimagining Education Lead Project Manager, as appropriate.
  • Ensure that all written and verbal communication:
    • Is aligned with district-approved Reimagining Education messaging as determined by the Superintendent, RE Lead Project Manager, and RE Communication Team;
    • Adheres to established Reimagining Education communication guidelines;
    • Is accurate, timely, and responsive; and
    • Is presented without personal opinion, preference, or advocacy to ensure that all community members receive consistent information and are able to provide feedback based on their own needs and perspectives.
  • Participate in ongoing training for the Reimagining Education Communications Team.

  • Minimum Qualifications:

    • Education:

    • Work Experience:

      Must be a current DMPS district level administrator, supervisor, or central office director in good standing
    • Licensure or Certification: N/A

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Effective written and oral communication and presentation techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with diverse community stakeholders.
  • Ability to present complex or change-related information clearly, calmly, and consistently, including in emotionally charged situations.
  • Ability to represent district-approved Reimagining Education messaging rather than individual school, program, or personal perspectives.
  • Ability to commit the required time during the school year, including participation in evening community meetings.
  • Ability to collaborate with district leadership and fellow Communication Team Members to ensure consistent, aligned, and unbiased communication across all regions.
  • A commitment to neutral, fact-based communication that avoids editorializing or personal bias.
  • An existing connection to or familiarity with the community within the assigned region is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
  • Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other.
