Position: First Year Admissions Counselor
As a member of the Admissions staff at Grand View University this individual will recruit first year students and participate in recruitment activities in coordination with academic and athletic departments across the campus. Recruitment will be done through appointments with prospective student visitors, college visits, college fairs, as well as via, text, e-mail and phone providing excellent customer service to our students and their families.

Essential Functions of Job:

Develop and implement a territory recruitment plan to meet enrollment goals. This plan will include meeting contact goals and engaging prospective students and parents active in the college search process by encouraging them  campus, complete the FAFSA and enroll for classes at Grand View University.

Maintain electronic records on each prospective student in the CRM.Coordinate financial aid awarding and follow up.

Assist in developing a recruiting strategy to engage and inform prospective students, school counselors, and others of admissions policies, requirements and procedures.

Participate and assist with the facilitation of on-campus group visit days.

Develop and maintain relationships with feeder High School counselors and administrators providing information on Grand View’s admissions policies.

Provide admissions counseling services to inquiries and applicants in all stages of the recruitment funnel. This will include interpretation of articulation agreements, transcripts, test results, as well as information on academic programs, scholarships, financial aid, and other support services provided by the university.

Serve on selected committees which support the Admissions office or University.

Maintain confidentially as appropriate.

Participate in professional development for skills enhancement.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required.

Excellent oral and written communication skills needed.

Knowledge of College mission, goals, objectives, procedures, and publications needed.

Emphasis with small, private college desirable.

Must be able to travel, stay overnights on occasion, and be willing to work a flexible work schedule.

Some weekend and evening activities may be required.

Possess a valid Iowa driver's license.

Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced, changing workplace.

Working Conditions:

Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching.

Requires extensive computer usage.

Required manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, the telephone, and other office and/or clerical equipment.

May require lifting up to 30 pounds.

Requires normal range of hearing and vision
