Job DescriptionDMPS is seeking a high school art teacher for an immediate start at Lincoln High School. Art endorsed candidates are encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree
- Work Experience: N/A
- Licensure or Certification: Valid Iowa teaching license (appropriate endorsement code for teaching assignment).
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse workforce and student population.
- Effective written and oral communication.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.?
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
- Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
JOB SUMMARY:
The General Education Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality educational program to meet students’ academic and social-emotional needs. The essential functions as shown below represent only the key areas of responsibility; specific position requirements will vary depending on the needs of the district.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Deliver daily lessons, aligned to state and district standards that meet students’ individual needs and ensure growth.
- Create an engaging, affirming, and meaningful classroom environment that meets the academic and social emotional needs of students.
- Participate in building and district professional learning communities to plan for instruction, analyze data, and create assessments.
- Monitor student learning on a daily basis. Use multiple data points to guide and individualize instruction.
- Communicate with families on a regular basis.
- Participate in professional development.
- Demonstrate consistent progress on meeting the eight Iowa Teaching Standards.
- Other duties, as assigned.
