We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Engineering Manager / Director to lead new product development efforts and guide a multidisciplinary engineering team in a high-mix, low-to-mid volume manufacturing environment. This role focuses on driving the development of electromechanical products from concept through production, with an emphasis on product innovation, quality, and time-to-market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team focused on new product development, product enhancements, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Drive full lifecycle product development from concept through prototyping, validation, and production launch.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, operations, quality, and sales to align engineering output with business goals.
• Oversee adherence to UL, CE, and other relevant safety and quality standards.
• Implement and refine stage gate or equivalent project management processes to ensure timely and efficient development.
• Contribute to hands-on engineering efforts when needed, particularly in mechanical or electrical design challenges.
• Mentor junior engineers and cultivate a strong, collaborative engineering culture.
• Evaluate and integrate metal forming and fabrication processes into product design, especially for vending and retail automation systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience developing electromechanical or industrial products, ideally in the vending, appliance, or refrigeration sectors.
• Strong understanding of UL and CE compliance in product design and testing.
• Demonstrated success overseeing cradle-to-grave product development.
• Familiarity with sheet metal, panel forming, or metal fabrication is highly desirable.
• Experience working in a stage gate / gated review environment preferred.

Preferred Experience:

• Background in vending systems, appliances, kiosks, or automated machinery.
• Prior experience working closely with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing setting.
• Willingness to mentor and roll up your sleeves in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
