We are seeking an experienced Engineer Project Manager with a background in automation, controls, or instrumentation engineering, preferably with municipal project experience.
Rate: 125-135k/year
Location:
Can sit in Cedar Rapids, IA or Des Moines, IA

Description/Skills
Must have:
- Must come from an engineering background with experience in automation/controls/instrumentation engineering
- Must have experience in municipality
What You’ll Do:
- Pursue and qualify project opportunities.
- Review P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and engineering plans to define project scope.
- Prepare scopes of work, estimates, proposals, and public/private bid responses.
- Build strong relationships with engineering firms, contractors, vendors, and municipal utilities.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal engineering/project teams.
- Oversee projects from early pursuit through execution, ensuring alignment on strategy, risk, and resources.
What You Bring:
- Strong understanding of process instrumentation, controls, PLCs, SCADA, and bid processes.
- Ability to read technical engineering documentation.
- Experience in account management or project management in related technical fields.
- 2+ years of estimating and proposal development.
- Excellent communication, organization, and relationship‑building skills.
- Proficiency with Windows, Word, and Excel.
- Self‑starter with strong teamwork, leadership, and attention to detail.
