Senior Controls Engineer - Automation Systems
Des Moines, IA
OverviewWork on next‑generation manufacturing equipment in a blank‑slate environment. Own the full controls lifecycle—from architecture through commissioning.
Responsibilities- Build PLC and Python-based control systems from scratch
- Program Allen‑Bradley (Studio 5000)
- Configure HMIs, vision systems, and robotics
- Design electrical panels and schematics
- Lead machine commissioning and troubleshooting
- Provide technical leadership
- 5+ years controls engineering experience
- Greenfield PLC programming expertise
- Strong Structured Text
- Experience with Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or Beckhoff
- Background in custom machinery
- Python, vision (Keyence/Cognex), robotics, HMI development
