Job Description
Join the dynamic National Mission Critical team at Ryan Companies US, Inc. as an MEP Project Manager II! This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to oversee project management tasks related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting all specifications.
Your Role Will Involve- Participating in the project preconstruction phase with a focus on MEP trades, including bid procedures, reviews, utility coordination, vendor qualifications, estimating, and scheduling.
- Understanding owner project agreements and effectively communicating these to your team.
- Building strong business relationships both internally and externally through clear communication.
- Introducing Temporary Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems to support overall construction site needs in line with project schedules.
- Successfully bidding, awarding, contracting, and coordinating scopes of work for MEP.
- Clarifying MEP subcontractor scopes based on project drawings, specifications, and requirements.
- Assisting with MEP subcontractor change requests, progress payments, and overall financial management.
- Engaging in all financial aspects of the project, including budgeting, invoicing, and owner pay applications.
- Leading and managing project team members and subcontractor partnerships effectively.
- Mentoring internal team members by delegating tasks and overseeing their progress.
- Assisting in structuring the project team, assigning responsibilities, and training team members.
- Providing performance feedback to team members.
- Aiding the field team in developing MEP tasks for the project schedule.
- Implementing Project Quality and Safety Plans with MEP subcontractors.
- Creating and maintaining tracking logs, testing documentation, and deviation reports for materials.
- Establishing the MEP submittal register in accordance with project documents, including organization and proper distribution.
- Communicating RFI/submittal forecasts to clients and third parties.
- Managing MEP subcontractors through BIM or 3-D coordination processes.
- Identifying and communicating MEP project risks clearly to all stakeholders.
- Leading the Project Commissioning process through testing, inspections, and functional assessments for successful project delivery.
- Finalizing all necessary documentation for project closeout requirements.
- Minimum of 7 years in construction project management with an emphasis on MEP systems.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
- Profound knowledge of complex MEP systems within data centers and the ability to work autonomously.
- Familiarity with Procore, P6, and other construction management tools is essential.
- Maintaining high professionalism, honesty, and integrity with a willingness to travel as necessary for project success.
- Flexibility to travel as needed to execute projects.
- A strong understanding of early turnover dates, hand-offs to commissioning agents, and the commissioning process, particularly in data center operations.
- Excellent communication skills focused on building team and customer relationships.
- Experience with Mission Critical Data Center projects.
Salary is competitive, in the range of $120,000 - $155,000, varying based on location and candidate qualifications. Potential additional compensation may be available.
