Process Safety Engineer
Global manufacturer of agricultural plant-based ingredients and excipients used in the food, pharmaceutical, and nutritional products industries is looking for a full time Process Safety Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of PSM, OSHA, and Root Cause Analysis. Experience in the chemical, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical industries is preferred. A Process Safety Engineer's job responsibilities include pursuing a deep understanding of process and design of the manufacturing process and must be able to solve problems and evaluate the operating process for compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities:
- The primary responsibility of the Process Safety Engineer will be to develop and implement safety procedures for the company's manufacturing operations while working in a team to develop processes to streamline production operations.
- Utilize tools such as root cause, OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP) rules
- Efforts around Dust Hazards (Analysis, risk reduction, trainings
- Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards
- Investigate accidents and incidents and develop corrective actions
- Maintain compliance with all applicable safety regulations and standards
- Providing oversight to MOC by maintaining and auditing MOC and Pre-Start Up Safety Review (PSSR) records and procedures
- Provide training and education to employees on safety procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering preferable Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in the chemical, petrochemical, or pharmaceutical industries
- Proficiency in PSM, OSHA, and Root Cause Analysis
- Deep understanding of PSM, OSHA, NFPA, ASME, API standards and codes
- Knowledge of RAGAGEP (Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
