The RoleAs a Bridge Design Engineer, you'll move beyond drafting drawings to become a pivotal contributor to the structural integrity and safety of critical infrastructure. You'll own technical solutions for projects that range from municipal bridge replacements to complex, multi‑level highway interchanges. What You'll Do- Structural Design & Analysis – Perform precise calculations for bridge systems, combining hand methods with advanced software to guarantee safety and performance.
- Digital Modeling – Build high‑fidelity models and documentation using Bentley Open Bridge, Micro Station, and related tools.
- Cross‑Disciplinary Collaboration – Partner with project leads, roadway, hydraulic, and geotechnical teams to integrate structural solutions seamlessly.
- Project Documentation – Create quantity takeoffs, technical reports, and cost‑estimate support materials.
- Quality Assurance – Review submittals and shop drawings to ensure compliance with DOT standards and internal quality criteria.
- Stakeholder & Field Engagement – Coordinate with external parties and participate in site visits to understand the full project lifecycle from concept to construction.
Requirement - Details
Education - B.S. in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a structural focus.
Experience - 3+ years designing bridges or transportation structures; hands‑on with DOT projects preferred.
Technical Skills
- • Hand calculations & software analysis (e.g., SAP
2000, RAM, STAAD)
• Bentley Open Bridge, Micro Station, or equivalent BIM platforms
• Strong grasp of bridge‑specific codes and standards
Soft Skills
- • Ability to juggle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
• Clear, concise communication for diverse audiences
• Collaborative mindset and proactive problem‑solving
Certifications - EIT or PE required
