Position Summary:

Dee Zee, Inc. is seeking a Summer 2027 Industrial Engineering Intern to support projects that improve manufacturing efficiency, accuracy, and cost effectiveness. This internship will run approximately June 1 through September 3, 2027, with flexibility to adjust the start and end dates based on the selected candidate’s availability.

This internship offers hands‑on experience with Bills of Materials, labor variance analysis, plant layouts, and process improvements while working in a real‑world manufacturing environment.

May involve occasional work in production areas, which can include exposure to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise levels, and fluctuating temperatures.

Accountabilities:
  • Assist with the creation, review, and updates of Bills of Materials and routings.

  • Support labor variance reporting and analysis to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

  • Contribute to process improvement projects that increase efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Help update and maintain plant layouts, work center data, and material flow documentation.

  • Participate in the Change Order process, supporting documentation and execution.

  • Provide support on special projects related to tooling, fixtures, and production support items.

  • Assist with data mining and report development to support decision‑making.

Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plant layouts, and process documentation.

  • Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD or Solid Works preferred).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Willingness and ability to work in a manufacturing environment exposed to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and variable temperatures.
