HS Vocal Accompanist

Stipend Amount: $1793.00

Required:

• Experience accompanying a vocal ensemble.
• Ability to sight read vocal scores effectively.

Desired:

• Degree in music, with an emphasis in vocal or piano performance.

Basic Function:

Conduct and administer performances and rehearsals of a high school jazz band.

Essential Functions:

• Play piano for vocal department as needed in rehearsals and concerts.
• Prepare music in a variety of styles and genres.
• Maintain sensitivity to the ensemble needs.
• Notify the director when the piano needs tuning and maintenance.

Additional Essential Functions (for every DMPS position):

• Attend work on a prompt and regular basis.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees.
• Assist with other duties as may be assigned.
