About the Role

A-CAP has an immediate opening for a self‑motivated, resourceful, and well‑organized candidate to join the team as a Senior Actuarial Analyst. The focus will include Experience Studies, Reserving, Reporting, Data Analysis and Modeling for annuities and life insurance products. The role offers direct exposure to each of the group’s insurance operating companies and close interaction with the company’s management team, with scope for tremendous growth as A-CAP expands its business.

What

You Will Do
  • Perform annuity & life insurance modeling, including enhancements using GGY AXIS.
  • Support reserving and reporting activities.
  • Assist with reinsurance administration and reporting.
  • Perform data analysis.
  • Support pricing as needed.
  • Support subsidiary insurance companies’ other core actuarial functions (valuation, cash flow testing, pro‑forma/business planning, risk management, etc.) with opportunities to rotate on a short‑term basis.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders.
  • Support additional actuarial projects as needed.

  • Participate in a student program while working in assumption setting.
  • Work on high‑profile projects with senior decision‑makers and external vendors.
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, actuarial science, or related field with 3+ years of actuarial experience.
  • Two or more exams passed toward the ASA/FSA designation.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite and GGY AXIS (or similar actuarial software). Tech‑savvy is a plus.
  • Experience with annuity or life products and relevant actuarial work (Experience Studies, Reserving, Pricing, Modeling, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate professionally and concisely, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to work independently in an opportunity‑rich, dynamic environment with a steep learning curve.
Additional Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience with asset modeling, cash flow testing & reinsurance, particularly for fixed annuity products.
  • Experience with pre‑need and/or final expense life insurance products.
  • Experience with US Statutory and/or GAAP financial reporting.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full‑time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 40 hours weekly, or as otherwise arranged with the manager of the department.
