Corporate Controller

The AED Corporate Controller is a highly competent financial expert who manages the company's finances and helps guide its strategic financial decisions.

• Oversee the accounting staff and daily accounting functions, such as payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
• Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring expenses are allocated in the most favorable way
• Manage financial reports and documents, such as balance sheets and income statements, and coordinate their preparation with internal and external auditors
• Develop and implement financial policies, and ensure compliance with financial and accounting regulations
• Perform financial risk assessments and internal audits
• Handle preparation of data for tax returns (actual return done by outside firm)
• Prepare use tax returns
• Oversee preparation of Benefit Plan 5500’s
• Oversee financial audit process conducted by outside public accounting personnel
• Oversee benefit plan audits conducted by outside public accounting personnel
• Develop and monitor financial performance metrics
• Accurately project cash flow during a given period
• Prepare information for monthly price changes
• Review/execute periodic bids from:
  • Specific groups of customers
  • Schools and government institutions
  • Other bid customers
• Work with sales and distribution personnel on routes and capacities
• Serve on the committee that reviews benefit plan investment options and performance
• Serve on the committee that reviews medical and other benefit plan designs for employees

Preferred attributes and experience:

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Experience as a controller or in public accounting
• Technical knowledge of accounting systems
• Proficient use of a variety of computer systems and software applications
• Experience in collecting and analyzing data and using it to make informed decisions
• Understanding of continuous improvement and experience with implementation
