HDH Advisors is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our rapidly growing valuation group based in Atlanta, Georgia. Candidates should have strong cognitive and interpersonal abilities, want to develop their professional and personal skills, and want to gain exposure to a broad range of industries. This posting is for an in-person opportunity in our Des Moines, Iowa office.
About the RoleThe responsibilities of a Financial Analyst include the following:
Responsibilities- Supporting a dedicated valuation team that focuses largely on serving clients, which include public companies, as well as private‑equity backed companies
- Performing financial statement analysis and other quantitative and qualitative assessments
- Compiling statistical summaries of companies’ financial information, developing and computing financial ratios, and presenting the analyses in an organized manner and/or using our standard formats and presentations
- Compiling and analyzing financial information for comparable public companies
- Constructing and reviewing valuation and other financial analyses using guideline public companies, guideline M&A transactions, and discounted cash flow analyses, within the firm’s proprietary models
- Research, analyze and communicate the key qualitative factors and quantitative drivers of companies and industries
- Researching and providing information on:
- General economic conditions
- Industry‑specific conditions and trends
- Acquisitions and divestitures within specific industries
- Participating in due diligence meetings, communicating with clients, and responding to auditor questions
- Designing and drafting client deliverables
- Performing other ad‑hoc research, analysis, and support
- B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
- Knowledge of basic corporate finance concepts and financial statement analysis
- Proficiency at financial modeling with advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including an understanding of integrated cash flow modeling is strongly preferred
- 0 - 3 years of professional experience in valuations, corporate finance, accounting, or related field is preferred
- Strong writing skills and experience with Microsoft Word and Power Point
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills and experience interacting with teammates and clients
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment and handle highly confidential information in a professional manner
