Job Summary
This position contributes to regulatory projection and reporting efforts, including Cash Flow Testing, C3 Phase I, and related reserve adequacy analyses. They run projection models, assist with model enhancements, perform detailed analyses, and support process improvement initiatives. This position is a part of the Actuarial Education Program and provides exam support and rotation opportunities for the candidate.
OrganizationThis position reports to the Actuary, Cash Flow Testing.
Duties and Responsibilities- Generate actuarial projections using AXIS modeling software.
- Design and maintain appropriate controls for AXIS models and reports.
- Analyze model output, identify key drivers, and communicate results.
- Provide review and sign off for AXIS model changes and perform change management testing.
- Create and maintain process documentation.
- Collaborate with external partners and internal teams to align efforts and drive successful outcomes.
- Actively engage in continuous improvements for both process and reporting.
Willingness to ask questions and propose improvements.
Experience and Education Requirements- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related area.
- Minimum ASA with progress towards FSA and MAAA preferred.
- 4+ years of related individual life and annuity actuarial experience.
- Experience with general account insurance products, indexed products, life insurance accounting, and asset modeling. Knowledge of pension risk transfer a plus.
Skills and Abilities
- Intermediate knowledge and experience with actuarial modeling system – AXIS preferred.
- Sound knowledge of business and technical operations preferred.
- Knowledge of Statutory, GAAP, and Tax accounting.
- Knowledge of general account insurance products.
- Good communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Self-starter who can develop policies, procedures and processes.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities required.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Demonstrates initiative and a strong desire to understand and solve problems.
- High degree of ownership for their areas of responsibility.
- Strong problem-solver skills that include advanced analytical and reasoning abilities. Demonstrate ability to apply actuarial principles to complex situations.
- Perform other functions, duties and projects as assigned.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Some travel may be required (less than 10%).
