What You'll Do
Financial Analyst III to join our Life Pricing Actuarial team. In this role, you will solve unique problems with advanced analytical skills and work with several internal partners and tools.
- Participate in the maintenance, preparation and analysis of financial information used in the product development and pricing processes.
- Work with a variety of technologies including R, SAS, Excel, and Integrate/MG-ALFA to set rates, analyze profitability and competitiveness, provide reinsurance support, and more.
- Use strong technical skills to conduct financial research and calculations, maintain and build both new and existing processes.
- Collaborate across teams, partnering with product management, inforce management, underwriting, technology teams, financial reporting, and others.
- Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, finance or equivalent experience required, plus 2+ years of relevant experience preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving, leadership and analytical skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills required.
- Good interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to accept and adapt to a changing environment.
- Knowledge of spreadsheet and database or similar PC software packages, or the ability to learn.
- Aptitude in programming languages preferred.
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Additional compensation may be available through a bonus program or incentives based on performance. Final compensation will be based on geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range$73,150 – $99,750 per year
Time Off ProgramFlexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees, allowing paid time for vacation, personal or short‑term illness. Employees do not accrue a bank of time off and there is no set number of days.

Work EnvironmentThis role is hiring in Des Moines with options for in‑office and hybrid arrangements. Hybrid would involve at least three office days per week.
