Financial Restructuring & Recovery Officer
The Financial Restructuring & Recovery Officer is responsible for managing complex, high-risk and distressed commercial credit relationships, including restructurings, bankruptcies, litigation, and recoveries. This role performs in-depth financial, legal, and business analysis to assess repayment risk, develop rehabilitation or exit strategies, and maximize recoveries while minimizing losses. The officer serves as a key point of contact for distressed customers and works closely with internal partners, legal counsel, and senior leadership.
Dayto Day Portfolio & Risk Management
- Aggressively manage a portfolio of distressed relationships, including restructurings, forbearance, repossessions, legal remedies, and bankruptcies.
- Perform comprehensive credit evaluations and risk analysis across multiple wholesale and retail industries, including Food Ag & Outdoor, Construction, Transportation & Industrial, Technology Solutions, Office Equipment, Clean Technology, and Healthcare.
- Escalate material risks and emerging issues to management in a timely manner.
- Develop and execute restructuring, rehabilitation, exit, liquidation, and recovery strategies to mitigate risk and preserve collateral.
- Propose and implement negotiated settlements, payment arrangements, legal actions, and repossession/remarketing strategies as appropriate.
- Monitor compliance with restructured agreements, ensure payment arrangements are adhered to, and apply funds accurately.
- Manage aftercare portfolios and execute deficiency balance recovery strategies to maximize collections.
- Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements, cash flow, collateral, market conditions, legal documentation, and contractual risk.
- Maintain advanced understanding of bankruptcy proceedings, UCC, federal and state collection laws, creditor rights, and litigation processes.
- Work closely with outside counsel to manage litigation, bankruptcy cases, and enforcement actions.
- Ensure compliance with all global and local credit, risk management policies, vendor program agreements, and loss pool/recourse requirements.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with distressed customers to influence business plans and outcomes, with the objective of rehabilitation where feasible.
- Coordinate, prepare and present Loan Strategy Reports to local and global senior management and credit committees.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Credit, Sales, Asset Management, Remarketing, Commercial Finance, Portfolio Management, and vendor partners.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and support to Litigation & Recovery team members on risk assessment and workout strategies for smaller or less complex accounts.
- Contribute to policy, procedure, and process development; support training and risk awareness initiatives across the organization.
- Two working days per year volunteering for a local charity.

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field (MBA preferred), or equivalent relevant experience.
- 710+ years of progressive experience in commercial credit, restructuring, workouts, litigation, or recovery, with exposure to complex and large-ticket transactions.
- Advanced expertise in financial analysis, credit risk management, restructuring techniques, and workout strategies for complex credits.
- Strong knowledge of bankruptcy law, UCC, collection laws, litigation processes, and creditor remedies.
- Ability to synthesize complex financial, legal, and operational data and translate it into clear risk recommendations and action plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present strategies and outcomes to senior leadership.
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple competing demands and operate effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑risk environment.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a networked, cross‑functional organization.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, and financial statement spreading or analysis tools preferred.

Pay range: $89,510.00 - $.
