Financial Manager, Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting, Financial Compliance
Under general supervision, performs professional fiscal and administrative work analyzing, reporting, monitoring, and forecasting budgetary needs and accounting and auditing work, including analysis, cost, and statistical activities, and the preparation of financial statements, schedules, and pertinent reports. This role collaborates with department staff to develop budget requests, track actual expenditures and revenues, and supports initiatives aimed at enhancing departmental financial management and efficiency.
- Knowledge of budgetary principles, financial management, and fiscal analysis methods.
- Knowledge of auditing and expenditure control systems and procedures.
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and procedures governing the receipt and expenditure of public funds.
- Knowledge of departmental budgetary policies and processes.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet software and data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical ability to research, compile, and interpret complex financial data.
- Ability to plan, organize, direct, and carry out a program of accounting, fiscal service, and controls.
- Ability to design, develop, and maintain complex spreadsheets.
- Ability to adapt to data processing systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other County employees, representatives of other agencies, external auditors, and the general public, fostering a collaborative and professional work environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or Public Administration and
- Four years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or a related experience, or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that will have provided the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- A criminal background check is required.
- A drug screen is required prior to final offer of employment.
This critical position leads the office’s financial planning and budget analysis and ensures compliance, strategic financial performance, and operational efficiency, as well as advises the County Attorney and the management team on budget and Collections matters.
