Associate, Investment Operations

What You'll Do

We’re looking for an Associate, Investment Operations to join our team. In this role, you’ll independently perform procedures, analysis and report preparation to support the lifecycle of investments in a global infrastructure. You will be responsible for account reconciliation, reporting, transaction management, portfolio analysis, compliance, data and trade support activities. You will support global investment initiatives through participation in projects, development and implementation of new initiatives, process reviews and system enhancements.

You will independently execute transactions and resolve problems with minimal guidance, establish new securities, compliance rules, new accounts, and or new reports to ensure readiness for trading, reconciliation, settlement and client reporting. You will identify and resolve issues associated with client data, trade breaks, reconciliation breaks, and compliance breaches; prepare reports and maintain controls in alignment with internal policies and clients’ needs.

You will interface with internal and external personnel—including senior operations staff, legal, relationship management, IT, banks, brokers, custodians, portfolio managers, traders, regulatory agencies—to educate, provide direction, obtain information and resolve problems. You will provide initial and ongoing training to Operations Associates and Operations Specialists, serve as first point of contact for inquiries, demonstrate expertise in technical functions, research of issues, problem solving, independent decision making and effective communication, and perform other job‑related duties or special projects as required.

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in accounting, finance, economics or business required.
• Knowledge of financial services and investment‑related terminology required.
• Solid analytical, problem‑solving, interpersonal, time‑management, planning, decision‑making, and communication skills required.
• Detail oriented, strong client service orientation, ability to work under pressure in a deadline‑driven, team‑based environment, and ability to produce accurate and timely information with minimal supervision.

Must be able to handle multiple, increasingly complex tasks, prioritize effectively and be flexible as business needs change. Must have the ability to take initiative, be a self‑starter and work independently.

• 2+ years’ experience in investment/mutual fund operations or a related field preferred.

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non‑sales positions may participate in a bonus program. Salary will be based on geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

This role will be based out of our Des Moines, IA office with a hybrid work arrangement.
