The Compliance Officer 2 plays a key role in supporting the integrity and performance of Family and Food Support (FFWS) programs within the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services.
This position serves is the lead specialist responsible for coordinating federal and state compliance activities, managing reporting requirements, and ensuring program operations align with regulatory standards for SNAP, Cash programs (FIP and RCA), SUN Bucks, Rent Reimbursement, and related programs.
This role leads agency efforts to identify and track compliance issues, prepare and submit required federal and state documentation, and respond to inquiries and information requests from federal partners, including USDA/FNS, ACF, and ORR.
The Compliance Officer 2 functions as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to program teams and leadership on regulatory requirements, audit expectations, and implementation of corrective actions. The position also serves as the primary coordinator for contracts, MOUs, scopes of work, amendments, and procurements for FFWS programs.
The Compliance Officer 2 ensures these documents meet federal and state requirements, supports leadership in contract development and negotiation, and guides teams through procurement processes and timelines.
Ideal candidates will bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across divisions and with federal partners. This role is essential to maintaining program compliance, supporting accurate federal reporting, and advancing the mission and operational goals of the FFWS division.
