About this Opportunity:
As a Section 8 Compliance Officer, you will manage a portfolio of multifamily affordable housing developments throughout Iowa. You'll conduct in-depth reviews of property operations, onsite inspections, and compliance documentation to ensure adherence to HUD regulations and Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) contracts.
This role blends analysis, technical assistance, and relationship management, with frequent travel across Iowa and to manage your assigned portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance Monitoring & On-Site Reviews:
Conducts desk and comprehensive on-site reviews of projects including property management practices, rental calculations, and resident relations. Ensures compliance of maintenance, repairs, and legal documents. Analyzes project data to determine performance rating. - Technical Assistance & Reporting:
Collaborates with Section 8 team to maintain project timelines and to ensure contract compliance. Addresses resident inquiries, authors deficiency and corrective action reports, and monitors corrective actions for HUD and federal regulations compliance. - Public & Stakeholder Engagement:
Serves as the primary point of contact for property owners, management agents, and government agencies. Provides technical assistance to stakeholders and keeps them apprised of compliance issues and subsequent resolutions.

The Section 8 Compliance Officer position is a non-merit, contract-covered position that is classified by the State of Iowa as a Compliance Officer
