Weekend Days
- Performs quality ultrasound procedures by utilizing proper positioning skills and technical factors, and applies knowledge of anatomical structures pertinent to patients from infants to geriatrics.
- Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
- Educates patients about exams being performed and obtains consent to perform procedures when necessary.
- Practices proper safety in accordance with established standards.
- Utilizes critical thinking in daily and emergent assessment of proper protocols.
- Assesses each patient for proper preparation and scanning protocol for each ordered exam.
- Follows established Ultrasound Department protocols.
- Observes safety precautions when handling patients during examinations and while patients are in direct contact.
- Operates 2D, M-mode, and Doppler ultrasound units with appropriate transducers to perform and accurately locate organs, with recorded images reflecting correct measurements.
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with one of the following:
- RDMS, RDCS, RVT, RMSKS, or other ARDMS-eligible credentials
- If not registered, must be board-eligible and become registered with ARDMS within one year of hire.
- Maintains active ARDMS registry status (30 CME’s every 3 years; annual payment).
- Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training required within six (6) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every two (2) years thereafter.
