Patient Transport-Methodist

Overview

Patient Transport contributes to patient care by moving patients throughout the facility via wheelchair, stretcher, bed or other appropriate means. As a member of patient transport you will be working in collaboration with other care givers, including but not limited to, physicians, nursing, techs, and all test sites within the hospital setting.

CPR Certified and responds to “CODE Blue” Medical Emergency to move patient and perform CPR if needed during the code. Demonstrates knowledge of patient and workplace safety, prioritizing prevention of errors, accidents and cross-contamination and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately. Balances team and individual responsibilities; stays objective and open to others’ views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to positive team goals, and puts the success of the team above personal interests.

Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors and adheres to policies, procedures and safety guidelines. Demonstrates the ability to meet the business needs of the department with regular, reliable attendance.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous Patient Transport helpful but not required.
• 6 months of customer service required.
• BLS (will be obtained during training).
• MOAB (will be obtained during training).
