** The Role and Why It's Important
** Our Retail Pharmacy Interns gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced retail pharmacy setting while working toward their pharmacy degree. In this role, you'll fill prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, assist with inventory and quality assurance, and help deliver the exceptional patient care that Hy-Vee is known for.

** What You'll Do
** No two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:
* Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and making every interaction a positive one
* Fill and help process prescriptions under the supervision of a registered pharmacist in accordance with all state and federal statutes and regulations
* Prepare prescriptions and affix labels to prescription containers
* Report any medication errors to appropriate personnel
* Assist with inventory control including ordering, stocking merchandise, checking invoices, and entering inventory information
* Assist with monthly inventory and follow security and regulatory procedures including Quality Assurance Programs
* Assist in training pharmacy employees
* Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy and dispensing area
* Maintain the confidentiality of customers' private medical information and prescription drug pricing in accordance with HIPAA
* Work with co-workers as a team to ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures and facility policies
* Maintain a professional appearance at all times
* Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned
* Adhere to all Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines
* Report to work when scheduled and on time
