Job Summary:

Operating Room (OR) Nurse specializing in Open Heart procedures in Des Moines, Iowa. This position involves providing advanced perioperative care within a Level I trauma center, with a focus on cardiac and thoracic surgeries. The role requires working in a fast-paced environment with diverse surgical cases and rotating shifts.

• Schedule:
  
  Days, 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications:
  
  24 months of current/recent operating room / CVOR experience, experience in Cardiac and General surgeries (80% cardiac cases, 20% general), scrub experience including open heart scrubbing, active Iowa or IA multistate license, American Heart Association BLS certification, EPIC electronic medical systems experience within last 3 years, trauma level I experience highly preferred, no first-time travelers; must have completed a previous travel assignment within 15 months
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  Trauma level II experience preferred
• Additional Information:
  Orientation scheduled for 9/14, 9/21, 9/28 (sooner starts are prioritized). The assignment involves floating across multiple campuses, including Iowa Methodist, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist MC. The role includes on-call duties up to 2 overnight shifts per week and 1 weekend per month, with a schedule from Friday 5:00 pm through Monday 6:30 am. Certification and licensing requirements include BLS (AHA) and a valid Iowa or multistate license.
  
  The position involves working with advanced equipment such as Davinci robots and Stealth technology for neuro navigation.
