Job DetailsValet Driver – Downtown Des Moines top hotels
Starting pay: $10 – $11 per hour plus cash tips daily. No experience needed.
Compensation & BenefitsThe hourly base pay range for this position is $10 – $11 per hour plus $9 – $12 per hour in tips.
Work schedule:
weekdays, weekends, holidays, all shifts.

- Maintain a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co-workers, and clients.
- Use salutation of the day and greet guests within five feet with a professional and friendly demeanor.
- Park and retrieve vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously.
- Assist guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed, and open all vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
- Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries; provide information about outlets, meeting rooms and/or amenities of the facility as well as main attractions in the area.
- Deliver messages, items and/or guest amenities as requested; shuttle guests to appropriate places that are approved by the location.
- Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival; issue claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collect claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys.
- Maintain all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, vehicle location, damage survey and claim check receipt. Consistently record location on all key tags after parking a vehicle.
- Calculate and collect revenue for vehicles when needed.
- Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). - Licensure:
Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state you are applying to work. - Work Experience:
One month related experience and/or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience. - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Skills:
Read and write standard English; comprehend simple instructions and written communication; perform basic arithmetic with American money; understand 24‑hour and military time; understand applicable rates; operate a manual transmission (highly desirable); perform parallel parking.
- Regularly required to speak and hear; sit or stand for extended periods; run, walk, handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Lifting: up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, up to 20 pounds constantly.
- Work outdoors for up to the duration of shift; exposure to extreme heat and cold weather.
- Travel up to 5% may be required.
