Payroll Specialist
This role is responsible for supporting a wide range of HR and administrative functions, including payroll processing, maintaining accurate payroll records, employee records management, assisting with benefits administration, and day-to-day human resources operations. The position involves assisting with onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and policy administration while providing general administrative support to ensure efficient office operations.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate payroll records and perform payroll processing.
- Provide administrative support for Human Resources operations, including maintaining employee records, processing personnel documentation, and ensuring accurate recordkeeping while maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
- Assist with attending career/job fairs.
- Assist in planning and conducting new employee onboarding.
- Assist with employee benefit administration.
- Provide prompt and courteous customer service to employees and vendors.
- Conduct oneself with integrity.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
- Be respectful of teammates and support teamwork amongst coworkers.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Assist with maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records using the HRIS system.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in payroll processing and payroll tax management.
- Knowledge of payroll accounting and deduction procedures.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- HRIS experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of payroll administration or HR experience.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Des Moines, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Des Moines, IA.
