We’re building a scalable, high‑impact data platform using Snowflake, dbt, and Airbyte — and we’re looking for a Data Engineer who’s passionate about turning complex, legacy logic into modern, reusable data assets. SHIFT: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Team is available between 7-5 central time, can be flexible work hours between those with a consistent schedule.

Key Responsibilities- Design and build modern data solutions — lead design and implementation for both new (greenfield) initiatives and legacy modernization efforts.
- Migrate and refactor legacy logic — extract transformation and business logic from existing reports, scripts, and code into documented, centralized models.
- Champion best practices — advocate for clean data architecture, maintainable code, reproducible builds, and data quality.
- Develop and deploy workflows — implement robust ELT pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, and Airbyte.
- Collaborate on AI/ML integration — support machine learning and AI initiatives by preparing reliable, well-structured training data and partnering with data scientists.
- Contribute to data strategy — collaborate across teams to strengthen our data foundation and align with enterprise data standards.
- Mentor peers and enhance processes — promote automation, monitoring, and scalable development patterns.
- Support production environments — occasionally provide after-hours support for critical workloads.

- Machine Learning and AI tools such as Sage Maker, Snowpark ML, or similar frameworks
- (Secondary exposure to AWS tools such as Lambda, S3, Glue, and Cloud Watch)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related technical field—or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience on a reporting, data, or software engineering team.
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills with hands-on experience in ELT workflows.
- Proficiency in Python or C# for data processing and automation.
- Experience contributing to or supporting machine learning or AI workflows
- Independent operator with experience planning, building, and deploying workloads to cloud environments.
- Experience with Snowflake data architecture, dbt model development, and Airbyte integration.
- Familiarity with documentation and architecture visualization tools such as Miro, Lucidchart, or equivalent.
- Snowflake certifications such as Snow Pro Core or Snow Pro Advanced.
- Experience modernizing or sun setting legacy systems with minimal business disruption.
- Prior technical leadership or mentorship experience.
- Background in quality or process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar).
- Strong root cause analysis and risk mitigation skills.
