Overview

The Power BI Developer will be responsible for creating, enhancing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards, building robust data models, and developing SQL queries to support reporting and analytics needs.

This role will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into meaningful, actionable data solutions.

The developer will analyze data sources, support self-service analytics, and ensure accuracy, clarity, and usability across all reporting outputs.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, enhance, and distribute Power BI dashboards and reports, including deployment using Power BI Apps.
  • Build and maintain SQL queries to support reporting, data transformations, and dashboard data inputs.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure data solutions meet expectations.
  • Investigate and analyze data sources using Microsoft SQL and KPI/metrics methodologies.
  • Deliver clear, user-friendly visualizations that empower stakeholders through self-service analytics.
  • Propose innovative data solutions by understanding business needs and challenging existing processes.
  • Train and onboard business users on Power BI dashboards and reporting tools, as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and visualization best practices.
  • Strong command of Microsoft SQL.
  • Ability to analyze and investigate diverse data sources and metrics reporting needs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Experience supporting data-driven decision-making and stakeholder engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to Databricks.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure data tools and environments.
  • Knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance domain.
  • Experience with additional reporting tools such as SSRS or Tableau.
  • Relevant certifications such as:
  • Power BI Data Analyst Associate
  • AIDA, CPCU, or other industry designations
