Each of these practices aligns to one of the core services Turnberry offers to clients. As a Cloud Engineer, you will join Turnberry's Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.
Responsibilities- Platform and Landing Zone Engineering
- Design, build, and evolve enterprise landing zone architectures for AWS and Azure, including:
- Organization/management group structures
- Account and subscription vending patterns
- Platform shared services/foundational workloads
- Guardrails for security, compliance, and cost management
- Maintain parity of governance intent and standards across clouds, while respecting native platform differences
- Responsible for ongoing platform lifecycle management, including upgrades, refactors, and technical debt reduction
- Infrastructure as Code and Automation
- Develop and maintain platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
- Build and operate CI/CD pipelines for platform deployments using Git Hub-based workflows
- Implement automated account/subscription provisioning, baseline configuration, and decommissioning
- Ensure platform changes are versioned, tested, and auditable
- Security, Governance, and Observability Foundations
- Implement and maintain policy-driven guardrails (e.g., Azure Policy, AWS SCPs, AWS config rules) aligned with enterprise and regulatory standards
- Partner with security teams to embed identity, RBAC, and least-privilege access patterns into the platform
- Enable centralized logging, monitoring, and observability integration at the platform level
- Support audit, compliance, and risk‑management needs through consistent, automated controls
- Collaboration and Technical Leadership
- Act as the primary platform developer responsible for broader platform strategy and operations
- Collaborate with architecture, networking, security, and application teams to ensure platform needs are met and constraints are understood
- Translate high-level architectural decisions into working, repeatable platform implementations
- Contribute to platform documentation, standards, and internal enablement materials
- 10+ years of experience
- Hands‑on engineering experience in infrastructure, cloud, or platform roles
- Strong, practical experience building and operating AWS and/or Azure landing zones
- Deep expertise with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
- Experience designing multi‑account or multi‑subscription cloud environments at scale
- Solid understanding of:
- Cloud networking fundamentals (hub‑and‑spoke, connectivity, DNS)
- Identity and access management models
- Security and governance controls in enterprise cloud environments
- Strong software engineering mindset (modular design, version control, code reviews)
- Ability to work across teams and translate platform constraints into actionable guidance
- Experience operating multi‑cloud platforms in regulated or compliance‑sensitive environments
- Familiarity with:
- AWS Control Tower, Account Factory, or custom account vending using account factory for Terraform
- Azure Landing Zones and management group design patterns using the Microsoft IaC accelerator for Terraform
- Experience building platform tooling using Git Hub Actions or similar CI/CD systems
- Exposure to enterprise observability tooling (e.g., centralized logging, APM platforms)
- Comfort working in environments transitioning from manual or ad hoc cloud usage to formalized platforms
The salary range for this role is $105,000 to $150,000 or the hourly equivalent. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
