Data Engineer
Position Summary
The Iowa Democratic Party is hiring a Deputy Data Director for our Coordinated Campaign to support the statewide data program.
Responsibilities- Work with the Senior Data Director to identify data needs across the state
- Build data pipelines and integrations between tools and platforms
- Design and develop reports and tools for other teams in line with key programmatic priorities, especially the organizing and digital teams
- Build target universes for voter contact
- Maintain and respond to a ticketing system for data support requests and flags
- Support other members of the data team to complete projects as necessary
- Advanced Google Sheets skills
- Proficient in SQL
- Experience with Vote builder (VAN)
- Comfortable programming in Python, R, or similar languages
- Experience creating visualizations and dashboards using Looker Studio, Tableau, and/or Power BI
- Experience communicating technical concepts to non‑technical audiences
- Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills
This is a full‑time position lasting through November 2026. Candidates must have a reliable laptop, cell phone, and vehicle, and must be comfortable working irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
