Position Overview

We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong Databricks and modern data platform experience to help support the foundation and evolution of a growing enterprise data environment. This role will focus heavily on building and optimizing scalable data pipelines, supporting cloud-based data initiatives, and helping modernize the organization's analytics ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Databricks, data engineering best practices, and modern data architecture concepts, along with experience integrating and transforming data from multiple enterprise systems. Experience helping organizations migrate reporting and analytics environments from Power BI-centric architectures into Databricks-enabled platforms is highly desired.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks and cloud-based data engineering technologies.
• Develop and support data ingestion frameworks that integrate data from multiple enterprise systems and data sources.
• Create reliable, efficient, and reusable data workflows to support reporting, analytics, and operational initiatives.
• Assist in establishing foundational data engineering standards, best practices, and governance processes.

Databricks Platform Development

• Support the development and optimization of the organization's Databricks environment and modern data platform architecture.
• Work with structured and semi-structured datasets across cloud-based environments.
• Leverage Databricks notebooks, workflows, Delta Lake concepts, and distributed processing frameworks.
• Assist with performance tuning, optimization, and scalability of data processing jobs.

Power BI & Analytics Modernization

• Partner with analytics and reporting teams to support the transition of reporting and analytical workloads into Databricks-enabled environments.
• Assist in modernizing data architecture supporting Power BI and enterprise reporting solutions.
• Help define data models and backend data structures that improve reporting consistency, scalability, and governance.
• Collaborate on long-term strategies around centralized enterprise data management and analytics enablement.
• Design and maintain logical and physical data models supporting enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to define data requirements, lineage, and transformation rules.
• Support initiatives related to data quality, integrity, governance, and standardization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with IT, analytics, business intelligence, operations, and leadership teams to understand business needs and deliver scalable data solutions.
• Translate technical concepts into understandable business terms and collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in architecture discussions, roadmap planning, and modernization initiatives.
• Research and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and best practices related to cloud data engineering, Databricks, and analytics modernization.
• Help identify opportunities for automation, operational efficiencies, and process improvements.
• Contribute to the long-term evolution of the organization's enterprise data ecosystem.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or enterprise data platform environments.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and modern cloud-based data engineering platforms.
• Strong SQL development and data transformation experience.
• Experience building and maintaining enterprise data pipelines and workflows.
• Understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and modern analytics architectures.
