Overview
The Business Insights Manager will lead the development and execution of reporting and analytics across the Operations organization, driving data‑driven decision making and operational excellence.
Location & EligibilityPosition based in Des Moines, IA with a hybrid work model as per company policy. Only candidates authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship will be considered.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop a high‑performing team of analysts: manage, mentor, and foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and delivery focus.
- Build analytical capabilities within the team, emphasizing data storytelling, statistical analysis, and predictive modeling.
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of dashboards and ad‑hoc reports to ensure they align with business goals and provide actionable insights.
- Assess and modernize data infrastructure to enhance scalability, performance, and maintainability, transitioning deliverables from static outputs to dynamic, insight‑driven analytics.
- Champion data governance and quality: establish quality controls, change‑management processes, and collaborate with IT to maintain data integrity and reliability.
- Partner with business leaders to prioritize initiatives, translate complex data into clear narratives, and act as a strategic advisor on analytics adoption.
- Identify opportunities for automation and advanced analytics, staying current on BI trends and exploring AI and predictive analytics aligned with business strategy.
- 2+ years of experience leading or managing reporting or analytics teams.
- 7+ years of hands‑on SQL experience, including complex queries and performance optimization.
- 5+ years in a business intelligence or analytics role.
- Expertise in Power BI (or equivalent tools such as Tableau, Looker).
- Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, data modeling, and governance frameworks.
- Analytical mindset with experience in statistical or predictive techniques to solve business problems.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and coaching skills.
- Preferred: experience in the insurance industry, Microsoft Power Suite (Power Apps, Power Automate), and Python or R for data analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, MIS, Finance (Master’s preferred).
