Sr. Manager, Quality Assurance and Certification

This is a hybrid position based out of our Des Moines, IA office.
What you’ll do- Lead and continually improve Quality Assurance, Test Automation, and Certification practices across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Define, enforce, and evolve testing standards, validation processes, and certification requirements to ensure production stability, availability, security, and regulatory readiness
- Manage, mentor, and develop QA and Certification teams, overseeing work assignments, performance management, hiring, onboarding, and professional growth
- Partner closely with software development, client implementation, and cross‑functional teams to plan, coordinate, validate, and execute comprehensive testing efforts
- Ensure accurate test planning, effort estimation, execution tracking, and audit‑ready documentation supporting production releases
- Serve as a senior technical advisor and escalation point for complex testing challenges, system defects, and production issues
- Drive a risk‑based, zero‑defect mindset while maintaining strong security controls and being available to respond rapidly to critical production incidents
- 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing
- 3+ years of people‑management or leadership experience
- Deep knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC practices, and risk‑based testing strategies
- Familiarity with network communications, financial or transaction‑processing systems, and large‑scale enterprise applications
- Strong ability to lead, influence, and mentor technical teams
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Sound judgment, decision making, and problem solving capabilities
- Ability to operate independently and manage competing priorities in high‑pressure environments
