We are seeking an experienced Senior Middleware Administrator to join our infrastructure team in a hybrid capacity out of Riverwoods, IL. This role is responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, and security of our core enterprise middleware environments, specifically focused on IBM Web Sphere, Apache, and Tomcat. The ideal candidate brings 10–12 years of deep technical expertise to handle complex configurations, proactive Datadog monitoring, and cross‑functional troubleshooting to support critical business applications.
ROLES& RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install, configure, provision, and maintain IBM Web Sphere Application Server (WAS), Apache, and Tomcat middleware environments to guarantee high availability and optimal performance.
- Provide advanced technical support, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting for middleware infrastructure components during production incidents.
- Utilize Datadog for continuous monitoring, performance tuning, system health checks, and proactive anomaly detection.
- Manage infrastructure requests, incidents, and changes through Service Now (SNOW) in alignment with standard ITIL governance frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional development and engineering teams to gather system requirements, deliver scalable solutions, and continuously improve deployment processes.
- Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration standards, and disaster recovery procedures.
