Our client, a multi-business global enterprise with investments and operations across several industries, is seeking a Chief of Staff to partner closely with the Founder and CEO. This role serves as a central connector across the organization, helping translate leadership vision into coordinated action. The Chief of Staff ensures priorities are clearly defined, initiatives stay aligned, and leadership teams remain focused on what matters most.
They support effective decision-making by organizing information, identifying risks, and bringing structure to complex issues.
This individual plays a key role in maintaining strong communication and accountability across senior leaders and business units. They lead core planning rhythms that keep the organization aligned and moving forward. The Chief of Staff helps anticipate challenges, surface potential roadblocks early, and ensure follow-through on important initiatives. They may represent the CEO in internal settings to maintain continuity and drive progress.
Success in this role requires excellent judgment, discretion, and the ability to operate confidently in a fast-moving environment. This is a highly visible position that strengthens how the organization functions as it continues to grow and evolve.
- Partner directly with the Founder and CEO to clarify priorities, support decision-making, and monitor progress on key initiatives
- Lead leadership meeting cadence and company planning processes, including quarterly and annual planning sessions
- Strengthen cross-functional coordination by ensuring clear ownership, timelines, and accountability across teams
- Prepare briefings, updates, and follow-ups so the CEO is well prepared for meetings, decisions, and engagements
- Support or lead high-priority projects that require collaboration across multiple business areas
- 10+ years of experience in business operations, consulting, or a Chief of Staff or similar strategic support role
- Experience working closely with senior executives and contributing to complex business decisions
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and improving organizational processes
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence across leadership levels
- High level of judgment and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information
- Role is based onsite in Des Moines, Iowa
, and relocation assistance is available - Strong business judgment and critical thinking skills are needed to navigate complex and evolving challenges
- Interest or exposure to sectors such as hospitality, luxury, and consumer brands is highly valued
- Role includes occasional travel, up to approximately 25%
- Candidates must be willing to relocate and work in person in Des Moines to stay closely connected to leadership and operations
